Our products have been developed through many years of experience and working with our clients to meet their needs. Those difficulties which have arisen have largely arisen from the misapplication of our bearings. We consequently stress the need to consider basic load ratings and the nature of the application for which the product is used.
Dimensions other than those shown may be manufactured upon customer request and negotiation.
Ball Transfer Units.
Ball transfer units, are a special group of bearings which require the client's
special application consideration. Ball transfer units are primarily designed for use in conveyor systems in a ball up, multiple unit installation, contain a housing, support cup, main ball, support balls and a seal available in heavy series types.To achieve satisfactory operation of the ball transfer units it is necessary that the mounting surface and contact surface of the load be flat. This will lead to the full contact between the units and the load itself. When selecting ball transfer units a safety factor of 3 is the minimum requirement. This will take into account the unevenness of the surfaces and eventual shock loads. Under normal service conditions the force required to set and maintain a load in motion over the ball transfer units is of the order of 1% to 5% of the load mass. If the units are to operate in a corrosive environment the stainless steel, sealed units should be
selected. Apart from the standard range of units shown in the following pages
varying designs to customers' requirements can also be produced.
